White Rice (Stovetop Method)

Ingredients (1 serving)

  • ½ cup uncooked white rice (long-grain or jasmine)
  • 1 cup water
  • Pinch of salt (optional)

Instructions

  1. Rinse the rice under cold water until the water runs mostly clear.
  2. Bring water to a boil in a small pot.
  3. Add the rice and salt (if using), stir once.
  4. Reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 15-18 minutes until the water is absorbed.
  5. Remove from heat and let sit, covered, for 5 minutes.
  6. Fluff with a fork and serve.
