White Rice (Stovetop Method)
Ingredients (1 serving)
- ½ cup uncooked white rice (long-grain or jasmine)
- 1 cup water
- Pinch of salt (optional)
Instructions
- Rinse the rice under cold water until the water runs mostly clear.
- Bring water to a boil in a small pot.
- Add the rice and salt (if using), stir once.
- Reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 15-18 minutes until the water is absorbed.
- Remove from heat and let sit, covered, for 5 minutes.
- Fluff with a fork and serve.
